Meet the Artist
Deirdre Kelly is a visual artist and art educator based in East Cork, Ireland, whose work is inspired by a lifelong love of nature and the wildlife that inhabits our landscapes, coastlines and skies.
Working across painting, drawing and traditional linocut printmaking, Deirdre captures the beauty, character and intricate details of the natural world. From the quiet elegance of a heron to the curious expression of a fox, her work celebrates the creatures we share our surroundings with, inviting us to pause, look a little closer and appreciate the extraordinary in the everyday.
Her artistic practice combines a keen eye for detail with a love of colour, texture and composition. Whether creating delicate, lifelike wildlife studies or bold, expressive linocut prints, each piece reflects her fascination with the natural world and the connections we form with it.
Deirdre graduated with a degree in Fine Art Painting from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2015. She later completed a Professional Master of Education in Art and Design and has been sharing her passion for creativity as a secondary school art teacher since 2016. She is also a member of Visual Artists Ireland.
At the heart of Deirdre's work is a simple hope: to share her love of the natural world, encourage a deeper appreciation of its beauty and inspire a sense of connection and care for the wildlife around us.
